Obstacle Course

  

We set up a little fun climbing course last night, and Caden had a blast. He climbed over it all night. This told us that we need to find more things that he can climb on. Sunday he figured out how to climb the stairs at Pop's and Grandmas house. I held his hands up once, and then he went up all in one motion. Now he's got it down! It was so cool, it's like it just clicked. We took a video of him climbing this cushion, but I haven't figured out how to put it on here. What a blast he had!

Here we are trying to walking up the cushion and over the pillow. We also would walk up the course and fall into the pillow which he thought was fun.

New Carseat!

We put his new car seat in right after his birthday, but I've been slacking getting the pictures on the computer. He loves it! Especially the part of him being able to see us now. He loves sitting forward. I think he'll like it even more in the summer when he doesn't have to wear his bulky coat in it.

We got a New Freezer!

It's official, as of yesterday,We got a new freezer!! I am so excited to use it! We have been wanting one for a while and we finally got it. Yippee! Now all I have to do is fill it. Our freezer that we have in the house is so small and we have been so tired of trying to make things fit, and having to take things out just to find other things. It's a stand up, with a handle on the front instead of the side and it's white. It is going to come in handy this summer when the garden is ready. I will be able to freeze more things. Also we will finally be able to stock up on meat. I love it! It's funny how excited you can get about the littlest things. Really? a freezer? Oh yea!!

Workin' Out

Wow, has it been a while since I have felt this sore. Probably since the fitness class I took in college. Don't get me wrong I like it! It means my body is getting a good workout, which it needs. I hope to get my beach body ready by summer, at least by August, in time for our vacation. I have set up my own little workout series that I am doing and am going out tonight to find a fun workout video. It's funny, I have tried working out with caden around but he just comes over and climbs on me, or pushes me. He thinks it's funny. So now I do it during naptimes, which is a whole lot easier. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer, I am Sooo... ready to be able to go outside and do things. Plus by then, Caden will be walking and probably running too! Double the workout! : )

Chicken Noodle Soup

Making homemade Chicken Noodle Soup for supper tonight and man is the house smelling good! Caden tried to help me with his bowl & wisk. It seems whenever I'm in the kitchen, that's where he wants to be too. He has his own little bowl, play food & utensils in the corner that he goes to. It's fun watching him play with them. I'm thinking a little dessert might be nice to have. Maybe a little Cinnamon Crumble Cake.  Mmm!!  Talkin' about soup, there was a funny song that we used to play in my preschool class. It was like a rap song about chicken noodle soup. I've had it in my head all day! Oh, the fun silly songs that they have for children.
"Chicken noodle soup, chicken noodle soup, chicken noodle soup with soda on the side!" Funny, I know.

The Weekend!

It's so nice having a 3 day weekend! We love being able to spend another whole day with daddy! Caden loves playing balls with daddy. Today were going out for lunch at the Valentino's Buffet. Yumm-O!! We are all excited for that. Then off to do a little clothes shopping at Super Target that we all need! Is it spring yet? I can't wait for the snow to melt!

Yesterday was the first time that I have been able to get out during the day in a while! It was so nice. I have the Explorer today as well. Lunch with the ladies! Yippie! Oh how I love being able to get out during the day if I want to. Being stuck at home for a few days during the week is alright, but it's been a couple weeks that Jacob has had to take the car due to snow. When will it be Spring? I can't wait to go outside for walks and let Caden run around.

Dr. Appt.

So Caden weighs 20 lbs! It's so hard to believe it's just that for how much he eats! He has just hit a plateau right now. He is getting another tooth in,  it's just starting to poke through now.  Now I asked the Dr. what we should do about Caden sleeping and how it's been lately. He just said to continue to let him cry it out and not to go back into his room at all. But do we continue to let him cry after an 1 hr? 2 hr? Dr. didn't really clarify what to do from there. 2 hours is a long time for him to cry! Poor little guy!

So we have Caden's 12 mo. Dr. Appointment today. I wonder how much he weighs now? He is growing so fast now and getting so darn smart! He can figure things out pretty quick. It seems as he gets older his curiousity grows. Lately he has had a hard time falling asleep by himself as well as sleeping through the night, which makes this Mama very tired! He used to do great! Then he got an aweful cold around Christmas and the sleeplessness began. He just wants to see you, and he can fall asleep. Crying it out doesn't work! He is a fighter. Hopefully the Doctor can send some ideas home with us to help him sleep. Till then, it looks like coffee will be my very best friend! =)

Penn State Bowl Game

Caden was all set for the bowl game. He had yummy food, his Pops, & Uncle Micah and Amy. We watched a good football game. It was raining hard on the field, so the players were soaked and muddy. Which is what a true football game is all about. Of course the Big Ten prevailed, and Penn State won!!

Caden had such a great birthday party! Thanks everyone for the memorable birthday. Caden says thanks for the presents! He loves playing with all them! He still goes from toy to toy whenever he hears the sounds or sees us playing with it. He can't decide which one to stick too! =) I am so glad that we were able to have our families there! Although Grandma Messick and Uncle Micah weren't able to come due to colds/illnesses. Lots of pictures were taken, so they can get caught up on those.

Fire Truck Cake

 

This is the cake that I made for Caden's 1st Birthday. It was a Chocolate/Vanilla Swirl with decorators frosting. This was the first 3-D cake that I have ever made. I think that it turned out pretty good for the supplies that I had. Caden loved it!
