Beach dreamin' today

With the weather being so nice and warm, and somedays hot, I can't help but dream of being at the beach. Walking along the shore line as the waves crash against my feet. The sweet salty smell in the air and the sounds of the seagulls flying through the air. Wouldn't it be fun to walk out to a little grill on the water and have lunch?

We think it would be fun to own something like this someday. We'd sell smoothies, slushies, icecream along with things that would be fired up on the grill. Some day. Maybe in Florida or Myrtle beach. Or who knows. We can dream right? Wouldn't you like to come visit us? : )

Brothers

I'm so thankful for the the love that these two boys have for each other. Caden is such a good big brother, Tyler is one lucky boy! They were looking out the window watching the rain come down.

Excited for spring yet?

We are so excited for spring to arrive! Oh to have warm weather again. This was the last tulip to bloom from my Valentine's day flowers. I look forward to seeing my crocus, tulips, and hopefully daffodil's come up and start blooming. I love having perennials planted around the house. It brings a fun scavenger hunt for us in the spring.

Dinosaur morning

It's a Dinosaur kind of morning here. Some are scary, some aren't nice, but there all friends at snack time according to Caden. I like how he sorts them by groups & colors.

It's the weekend!

Yay, it's the weekend! The time where daddy's home and doesn't have to work, where we all get to relax and just have fun. Last night we blew up the air mattress and camped out downstairs. This has become one of Caden's favorite things to do on the weekends! It's so cute to watch him get all excited about camping on the floor with mommy & daddy.  It makes me look forward to summer, where we can camp out in a tent in the backyard.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today is the day of love! To show & share our love with each other.  We started our day of celebration by eating some red colored blueberry muffins. Mmm!

For supper we're making a heart shaped pizza, with some homemade garlic cheese bread. We are having such a fun day of love! I hope you are too!

Naptime with Super Dog

I snuck in and took a picture of Caden at naptime. He has his super dog tucked beside him as well as his other puppies & horse. His "super dog" has been taking a lot of naps with  him lately. It's cute.  : )

Mandarin Coriander

Mandarin Coriander by Thymes

This is my favorite lotion to use, it smells so good. It's such a soft relaxing scent, there is just a small hint of mandarin smell. I've usually only been able to find it at Essentuals in Fort Collins, but lone behold I found a store here in Lincoln that carries the Thymes brand, so I'm hoping to stop by the next day or two and see if they have it. You know sometimes you have that favorite perfume, well for me it's this lotion. I've loved it for years. Well really since I first moved to CO and stumbled upon it while exploring Old town. Well, it looks like my hands are getting a little dry, I better go put some on. : )

Coffee & a Recipe book

Drinking a much needed cup of coffee this morning, maybe even two. Tyler had a rough time last night trying to sleep. Poor babe has a stuffy/runny nose & a cough, then to go along with that he's teething. So I'm not quite sure if it's just the teeth causing this or a cold. Either way, I hope he feels better soon. He's taking a little nap now, so that's good. It gives me the chance to look through my Susan Branch "Love" recipe book, to find a fun meal & dessert for Valentines day.

Ahh.....Naptime.

Oh how I love naptime! It allows me the chance to relax and recharge myself. Tyler is finally taking good naps, by himself. For the longest time he would fall asleep by himself, but only sleep maybe 10-15 min. and then he wouldn't fall back asleep even though he was clearly still tired. He would just cry in his crib, but as soon as I would pick him up he would be out. Night time was no problem for him sleeping, so at least I had that going. Thank goodness those days are over, well at least for the past couple of days. Keep your fingers crossed. Caden still takes a nap, although it's not as long as it once was, he still lays down. Yay! He needs it, he plays so hard.

Changes are on the way! It's been a long time off, and now were back.

Our last day of being a family of 3.

Tommorow come bright and early I'll be going to the hospital eagerly waiting to meet our little baby boy. We have to be at the hospital at 5am so we'll be getting up early! Like 3:30ish. Ugh. But we are so thankful that my mom (grandma) can spend the night and is able to watch Caden in the morning. So we don't have to wake him up and drop him off somewhere. As for the rest of the week Caden gets to spend the night at Grandma and Pops house. He's pretty excited to drink some of Pops apple juice and help them outside. If only he new now how much his world is going to change. I think he'll be a great big brother, he's already been learning how to help mommy and daddy with his baby brother.  But here's to having fun today and celebrating the last day of just us before little baby brother joins our family.
So this is what Caden looked like as a newborn, I wonder what this little man will look like? Can't wait to find out!!

Nothing like Fresh chocolate chip cookies! Mmm!

He was worried at first about all the chocolate on his fingers until I told him to just lick it off. Then he thought it was fun. Amazingly we only had one little spot of chocolate on his white shirt. Obviously you can tell I didn't realize he had white on until he had the cookie in his hands. Boy was I lucky. : )

Caden's New Bike

Sunday we went and got Caden a new bike. Oh how Caden loves it!! He wants to ride it everytime we're outside. He looks so cute and like such a big boy. He loves wearing his helmet and quickly learned that if he wants to ride his bike, he needs to wear his helmet. Here's a few pictures from the first day of riding his bike.

A night filled with toys, pizza, and a movie.

The next morning we all went to Mahoney State Park and climbed around in their tunnels and ball pits. 

Caden loved the ball pit as well as climbing over these triangle mats.

We can't even count how many times Caden went down this slide. This was such a fun place to take the kiddos.

Puppy wanted to be tucked in and watch the cartoon too.

Watching the snow melt is a wonderful feeling, it means that spring is on it's way. We have been loving the warm weather the last couple of days. Saturday and Sunday were both in the high 50's, so we were outside mostly all day. Caden loved jumping in the puddles of melting snow, along with not having to wear a hat or scarf or heavy coat. Yesterday was nice, but a little cooler. But still amazing weather for February. After this week of sunshine our snow should be all gone. Seeing the grass again is nice, but I think Cade's favorite thing is seeing the dirt. He's been trying to convince me to get the garden shovels and trowels out. Can you tell he remembers the garden and all the fun he had digging in the dirt?!

Oh what fun he had jumping and splashing in the water! His shoes were soaked and pants wet. Do you remember the last time you were this care free?

We even enjoyed a bowl of ice cream outside. Mmm..

Only if my little man could be sleeping like this now.

It would make this Mama very happy. I need my little naps, otherwise I fall asleep early and leave my hubby to have the night by himself. When I say early I mean not much later after we put Caden to bed.

 But wait, what is this I hear? Silence? No toys, no talking, no nothing? Hmm...maybe he finally gave in! : ) It only took 2 hours. Wish me luck, hopefully it will last long enough for me to get a rest in.
